Innovative winery that has changed the image of Puglia, Italy.
Antinori, one of Italy’s most prestigious wineries, purchased land in Puglia in 1998 that was full of winemaking potential, and this winery called Tormaresca was born. Tormaresca means “tower in front of the sea,” and as the name implies, the emerald green sea stretches out before the vineyard. The company currently owns more than 10 wineries throughout Italy, including Tuscany, Umbria, and Piedmont, and produces a wide variety of wines that reflect the terroir and history of the land, based on the idea of “appreciating our connection to the land.
In Tormaresca, wines made from indigenous varietals are full of charm. Antinori discovered the potential of local grape varieties grown only in this region and produced a series of high quality wines, redefining the image of Puglian wine as quantity over quality.
He has led the tradition and history of Italian wine, and is truly one of Italy’s leading winemakers.
