Badia a Coltibuono WINE DINNER at IL VIAGGIO Oct 29 2024

The most historic and prestigious winery in Chianti continues to receive high acclaim for its exceptional wines produced from the finest vineyards. On the day of the event, Roberto Stucchi, the head winemaker and member of the owner’s family, will welcome guests.

We will be serving perfectly matured vintages, ranging from Chianti Classico to Super Tuscan and Vin Santo. The wine service will be directed by our corporate sommelier, Hiroshi Ishida.

Chef Hideyuki Adachi from the wood-fired grill restaurant Il Viaggio will prepare a course menu inspired by Tuscany, featuring seasonal ingredients.

ABOUT Badia a Coltibuono

A prestigious flagship winery in Chianti Classico that has preserved 2,000 years of history, it is the only winery that produces four different types of Chianti Classico. As a true specialist in Chianti Classico, it has established a unique legacy even within Tuscany. The name Badia a Coltibuono means “Abbey of the Good Harvest,” and it is one of the oldest wineries in the Chianti region, founded in 1051.

Since the mid-1980s, the winery has pursued healthy viticulture practices by minimizing the use of herbicides and pesticides. By the 2000 growing season, it had fully transitioned to organic farming. After the required three-year certification period, from the 2003 vintage onward, all wines under the Badia a Coltibuono line made from estate-grown grapes have been released as certified organic.

These Chianti Classico wines are highly regarded for their refined and distinctive character, expressing the terroir and the traditions of the region to perfection.
