【Life Style : Vol.2】Wines to Pair with Home-cooked Meals
Hello. I’m AKI, the shop manager of LA GALERIE Kitasando.
Today, I would like to introduce two wines that pair well with home-cooked meals.
Encomienda de Cervera, Poker D Blancos 2018 Castilla, Spain ¥3,300 (including tax)
A Spanish wine that blends four grape varieties: Gewürztraminer, Albariño, Sauvignon Blanc, and Verdejo. It offers a rich aroma and a sense of maturity, making it a satisfying choice. I recommend pairing it with Japanese dishes that use MISO, MIRIN, such as Saikyo-yaki and simmered dishes. Initially, it’s best served well-chilled, but you may also enjoy it as it gradually warms up without placing it in a wine cooler.
Dominio del Bendito, El Primer Paso 2017 Toro, Spain ¥3,850 (including tax)
A wine made from Spain’s renowned grape variety, Tempranillo (known as Tinta de Toro in the wine-producing region of this wine). It’s a barrel-aged wine with a balanced combination of fruity flavors and tannins. I recommend pairing it with hamburgers generously covered in demi-glace sauce or teriyaki dishes. With its substantial alcohol content, you might also enjoy savoring it slowly over 2-3 days.
Adding a different wine to your regular meals can make them a bit more special. At LA GALERIE, we have a wide selection of wines priced between ¥3,000 and ¥5,000 that are perfect for everyday dining occasions.
Our staff, who are passionate about both food and drink, would be delighted to assist in making your dinner tonight even more enjoyable. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
